i wanna go back to ohio state...
it is strange how i am drawn to go visit campus, even though i am there three times a week...we came down to my work for an open house and decided to stroll the boyz through campus...they loved it...thoughts of riding bikes with andrew all over campus rushed into my mind...then seeing these boyz run on the same paths...ewie enamored, loving the free, open space of the oval...cam, already looking and acting like an undergrad...what will the next 16 years bring?!

boys will be boys...
Boys are beyond the range of anybody's sure understanding, at least when they are between the ages of 18 months and 90 years.
James Thurber
trucks, trains, cars, dinosaurs, movement, books, blocks, paci's, blankies and eating...these are the things that make our house go round...on saturday, we took the boyz in the bike trailer and biked to our local park for a car show and touch a truck...they loved being pulled in this trailer...they loved the touch a truck, except for the honking car...we did not even recognize them with their good behavior...i feel like my days are full of surprises...never knowing what they are going to bring to the table...what they are going to say or what they will do...i am only appalled 10-20% of the time!!

this week...
ten things i loved about this week...
1. the past couple of nights ewie HAS to be in cam's bed before night time and he gives cam all of the things cam loves...cam says, "thank you ewie!"
2. we have been to the playground and the boyz are so manageable...
3. antman got a facebook page...not sure why libby has not gotten one yet!
4. cole-e-bo-bolie is 12...he amazes me with how great he is with the boyz every time we are together...
5. cam was awake when i check on him last night at 11pm...i screamed, because i was not expecting him to be awake...he stayed awake for 3 hours...the last hurrah ended in cam "roaring" and saying, "mommy, i a dinosaur!" he was put back in his crib directly after this...
6. andrew ran twice this week...
7. harmony is back in our house with placement of toys...thanks to aunt keena's assistance...
8. ewie took his breathing treatment tonight while checking out field and stream...
9. cam chanting, "go shoes, go shoes, go shoes, go shoes" when andrew put on his running shoes, while they were eating dinner...
10. how quick the boyz cam upstairs by themselves for bath time, when andrew and i went upstairs first talking about hiding for hide and seek...

adapting...
life has forced me realize, it is ALL about adapting...this lesson to girl, who has all of her glasses arranged by height and type, and seriously feels unsettled when the playmobil mixes with the little people, but tries to appear to be laid back...sometimes adapting is rearranging...sometimes adapting is letting go...letting go of a utopia of eating dinner together every single night, driving everyone insane...realizing 80% is success, not necessarily 100%...tonight, andrew and i shared our first dinner alone at home in over a year...he ran, for the first time in over a year...and it was a GREAT night...the boyz are at the end of teething...they are in a state of monkey see, monkey do twin style...thanks to aunt keena, we rearranged and reached a safety zen...they do not have a limit of hide and seek, but luckily ewie loves to hide and cam loves to seek...ewie doing shhhh, shhhh, shhhh with his hands and whole body is something andrew and i hope to capture on film...cam and his "controlling issues" telling us where to go and being the only one to seek is so funny, even ewie lasts and goes with it...when i read my 'books' that aunt keena scoffs at...it reminded me the boyz want to mimic us...it reminded me the boyz are strong willed...which will be a good thing in the long run...but most of all, and as i have been told, adapting is the key...we had a great weekend, a night out, a visit from aunt lorri, uncle john and cole but most of all getting our life in order...by adapting...

gentle reminder...
Why God made Little boys
Author: unknown
God made a world out of his dreams,
Of magic mountains, oceans and streams,
Prairies and plains and wooded land,
Then paused and thought, "I need someone to stand
On top of the mountains, to conquer the seas,
Explore the plains and climb the trees,
Someone to start out small and grow,
Sturdy, strong like a tree" and so...
He created boys, full of spirit and fun,
To explore and conquer, to romp and run,
With dirty faces, banged up chins,
With courageous hearts and boyish grins.
When He had completed the task He'd begun
He surely said, "That's a job well done."

this is a gentle reminder of what we are signed up for...it does not help these boyz are super smart already...and have each other as allies...i know we will miss this phase, although the screaming, yelling and throwing is a lot to take with a double dose...when ewie took the piece of lettuce and pretended it was a snake, trying to say the word then saying sssssssss moving his snake lettuce toward cam's plate and cam followed...it was so hard not to smile...such an accomplishment for ewie...and when cam accidently (zarnoch grace) spilled the rest of his dinner plate, it was so hard not to laugh and cry at the same time...full of spirit and full of fun...these boyz...

this man...
i do not give him enough credit...even though he tries to drive me crazier some days, i still realize this man is everything i have ever asked for and more...i have loved this man since i was 21 years old...with all of my heart and all of my soul...he carried me through so many overwhelming events in my life...then this man and i had these boyz...and he made me love him so much more than i ever thought was possible...he loves these boyz with all of his heart and soul...he does so much more than an average father...i have no worries when i am on call or away...he is amazing...these boyz already show signs of how they want to be like him...and i know as the years forge on, it will only get more intense...this man is andrew and i can only hope these boyz follow in his footsteps...
happy birthday andrew!!!
we love you!!!
