2013
how to begin...it has been a rough year...i should have know last january, when i was writing 2014 in my OR documentation...2013 has been a rough year...after rolling from christmas, izzy turned one in january...we had flu after flu after flu...i turned 40...the boyz turned 5...we attempted organized sports with pretty much failure...we finally sold our house after a very complicated start...we failed at finding a house to suit our needs...so we moved out of garden road and into my baby sister's house for two glorious weeks...right as the boyz started school where we thought we would be living...so fortunately we found a 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath townhome with attached 2 car garage to live for 6 or so plus months...it has been a wonderful easy adjustment to kindergarten for cameron...it has been a rough road for ewan...we have sent this poor child over the edge with transitions...izzy is a "character" as described by most...we are overwhelmed with love for these children...we do not know how we would do it without grandma and grandpa and keena and caitlin...here are a few photos to document this rough but amazing year...

5+5+1.4=LOVE
these three kids...i can not explain enough how i love them...cam, always talking about cousin wampa, but mostly acting appropriately, but way above his level...ewan, his energy and love for animals, passion never ending...isobel, infinite energy, she thankfully communicates clearly and entertains herself. i am overwhelmed with gratefulness...understanding how truly fortunate i am to just be a part of these healthy lives...

the moment...
the moment is almost too much...isobel is non-stop, with teeth never ending...cam keeps trying to be a big kid at 5 years old but it is hard when your twin brother, still feels like he is 4...we have spontaneously put our house on the market...that comes with it's own set of too much...i just want to have the opportunity to slow down...enjoy the moment...we will see...i still feel like every moment right now is surreal...i never imagined we would actually have three children...i am so thankful...
isobel at 16 months, because she has hardly been documented...she is a pistol...my pediatrician who has lots of experience, has told me she will make cam and ewan seem like angels...she loves the outdoors...can not get enough of it...she loves to dance...all the time...music can pick her up at any moment...her favorite song is Call Me Maybe...she loves to wave hi...and loves to blow kisses...she loves to sleep...so active but yet loves taking in the moment...a perfect combination of the boyz...an amazing smile...

first...
dear isobel...we have made it through your first month and we celebrated by giving you your first bath...(please do not judge, we are only a week late since your umbilical cord just fell off: )...daddy gave you your bath...he is in charge of kid cleanliness and laundry...you were not sure at first but you loved it and kept trying to dip your foot in the water...good times : )

simpler time...
It seems odd to have the mindset the twins are a simpler time for our family...since before their conception, it has been a whirlwind...it seems we have only come up bobbing for air for long stretches over these past two years...and now we are just a week away from adding a baby to our mix...a whole new experience...a girl & just one baby...I feel a little sentimental about leaving this "simpler time" but looking forward to our new adventures : )

surprises...
“life is full of surprises and serendipity. being open to unexpected turns in the road is an important part of success. if you try to plan every step, you may miss those wonderful twists and turns. just find your next adventure-do it well, enjoy it-and then, not now, think about what comes next.” -condoleezza rice
life has definitely been full of surprises for us this summer...besides snake parties, the boyz come up with new surprises everyday...like when ewie showed up with his and cam's rain boots from the basement...or when he appeared "dressed" in two pajama tops, one on his arms and one on his legs...or when cameron belts out hakuna matata and the way he says "phil-los-so-fee" melts my heart...on another of ewie's adventures to the basement, he brought up the extra large world animal map...the next thing we knew both of the boyz were discovering animals on the map...then their own animals appeared...a whole new adventure...our biggest surprise of the summer has been the news we are expecting a new addition...this unanticipated (and thought to be impossible without modern medicine) turn in the road is something we feel is such a gift...and we are enjoying every moment : )
